We fell in love with the Simply Small board books when we discovered Saffy the baby giraffe! The author and illustrator of the Simply Small books is Paola Syme, who uses the pen name Paola Opal. Paola was also a recipient of the Alcuin Society Award for Excellence in Book Design in Canada for another children's book called One Little Bug. She lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
